There is nothing better than the feeling of slipping into a pair of soft pajamas, except perhaps putting them on knowing that you are supporting small businesses who invest in saving the world one garment at a time! At Butter Bug Boutique in Tampa, you’ll find an extensive collection of bamboo apparel and other skin-safe and sustainable pieces for babies and kids (sorry, grown-ups.) Read a little more about them below!
Owner Courtney Vermette started Butter Bug Boutique during Covid-19 to share chemical-free products and bamboo clothing from women-owned companies with other moms. Her daughter, Lucy, was born with extremely sensitive skin, eczema, and sensory issues. Courtney constantly researched which fabrics and products wouldn’t irritate Lucy’s skin.
Now, she takes the hard work out of the picture so all parents can easily shop for safe baby and kid products, like buttery soft bamboo clothing, BPA-free toys and teethers, and other organic products free from dyes and harmful chemicals. The charming name for this Tampa baby store comes from Lucy’s obsession with bugs, namely butterflies, and the buttery soft sleepwear and apparel sold at the store!
Most of the products sold by Butter Bug Boutique are designed and made by fellow moms worldwide! Additionally, their wide variety of brands has been hand-selected to not only provide the highest quality products but who also contribute to non-profits such as The Trevor Project, the National Wildlife Federation, The Ocean Foundation, Mental Health Alliance, WWF, Eco-Health Alliance, With Love from Africa, Syrian Moms and Refugees, Cow Power, and hundreds of other global community projects and local non-profits right here in Tampa.
Basically, when you shop at Butter Bug Boutique, you support our planet and the humans and animals who inhabit it. There’s no better way to shop than with a good conscience!
While you can totally browse their expansive selection on their website, nothing beats shopping at the boutique in person, where you can take the time to feel all of their buttery fabrics for yourself. They have an incredible variety of apparel for kids and babies, from onesies and rompers to dresses and sweaters. Whether you are looking for something trendy and neutral or playfully patterned, Butter Bug Boutique very likely has exactly what you are looking for (and so many things you didn’t even know you needed!)
With brands like Kyte Baby, Noralee, Pink Chicken, Rylee + Cru, Angel Dear, and more, the products at Butter Bug Boutique aren’t just soft – they also last. Suppose you’re looking for more than clothing. In that case, you’ll be pleased to browse their accessories, toys, and books designed to stimulate the senses, encourage imagination, and learn important life skills. After all, owner Courtney was a public school educator pre-pandemic!
Once you start shopping at Butter Bug Boutique, you just may find it hard to stop. Luckily, their rewards program helps you save money as you spend! You’ll earn a Butter Point for every $1 spent, and then you can redeem your points for store credit. Refer friends and earn even more!
So not only will you feel good about supporting important non-profits, you’ll feel good about the amount of spending you’re doing that will ultimately lead you to saving a little something extra.
